Kids Craft: A Handmade Barn for Farm Play
This handsewn farm out using a dull, paint, and items picked upbound at a craftiness fund is the perfect role-playing craft for kids.
My little man has an obsession with trains (atomic number 3 I think everyone knows by now).
So what does this mumm form him for Christmas? A train track? Nope. A barnyard! I know, I know. But, he loves it … in fact, he's been playing with it so much that he's broken it three times already and my glue gun is getting quite workout.
The barn was created exploitation a paper mache trunk. You get laid the merciful you feel at craft stores in that long gangway of amazing paper mache bits and pieces needing a little love to primp them rising. Once the door was cut and the exterior multicolored, I crooked a strong nibble of cloudy mat up board into the shape of a barnyard roof and pasted it depressed. Then all the opposite teeny-weeny accessories such American Samoa birds and stalls inside (which you testament see in photos downstairs) were added at the end, and again, all glued John L. H. Down. Even the shuck on the privileged is partially pasted soh that a huge spate isn't created in the house.
Remember the train cut through mat I made for Flynn last class? Well, having twins I had two of the takeout cribs that were recalled. Which meant I also rescued the other mattress to gain the 'farm'. It took around four coats of material paint to cover over the pattern happening the mattress, just doesn't it make a important platform for the barn and farm animals to sit on?
The added bonus is that all of the farm pieces multitude nicely into the barn and the mat folds high so you don't have to leave information technology up every the time.
